We at Windward are committed to living sustainably. We have incorporated into our lives, measures that will allow us to be more environmentally friendly.

- Collect HHW 3-4 times a year
- Battery Recycling
- Bi Annual Swaps where members can donate and pick up items. Remaining items are donated to Goodwill.
- An active Youth Green Committee (Greenward) that publishes a newsletter with tips and suggestions on how to be more environmentally friendly
- An active Green Committee that is committed to the education of members on how to live more sustainably. For example providing information to members on how to increase waste diversion by recycling and composting correctly, reducing water and electricity usage etc. The Green Committee goes door-to-door, holds sessions in common areas such as the lobby, puts up posters with tips on how to be green and much more.
- Green Spaces in the Co-op
- Using certified energy efficient lighting
- Provide members with materials that can help them be more environmentally friendly, such as recycle bins, compost bins, CFL bulbs, aerators for taps etc
- Provide members guides such as the Green Bin and Recycling Guides.
- Solar roof that heats all the water in the Co-op
- Low Flow toilets installed in all Units
- LED lighting has been installed in most common areas and some lights only turn on once movement is detected
- We do our own snow removal and use ice melter rather than salt
- All Washer and Dryers are now High Efficiency
- We have turned some parking spots into bike parking
